getting the blog ball rolling
Thank you for joining me on my new blog! It’s taken me a while to get around to doing this, but I think it will bring so much benefit to you all.
There are so many questions which people have about mortgages, and let’s be honest, they’re not the most exciting of things, are they? With this blog, I hope that I can put your mind at ease and help you get the right mortgage for you. Make sure to check back regularly to see what the latest blog is all about. There will be something for everyone, no matter where you are on your housing journey.
Before we kick off with the exciting blogs, I’d like to introduce myself, after all, if you’re putting your trust in me to help you with a mortgage, you need to know who I am!
I have worked in and around the housing sector for 37 years. I started my housing career working for an estate agent. I loved meeting people and getting to know them, what they needed from their dream home and seeing it all come together. After a couple of years with the estate agents, I moved to a legal career. On the face of it, this may sound like a change in direction. And yes, it was, but it was still in the housing sector. So, I was on familiar ground. I initially worked as a legal secretary and then trained to become a Legal Executive specialising in house conveyancing. I worked for two firms of solicitors based in Leicestershire and then joined a firm who have become the largest residential conveyancing company in the UK. After 16 years with that firm, whilst I loved the job, I decided it was time for another change, again staying within the housing sector.
So here I am. I am now the proud owner of an independent mortgage adviser business and I love it! I have definitely found my happy place.
This is my dream job. I get to help change people’s lives or at least enable them to change their home. Not many people can say that! We all know that mortgages are not the easiest things to get your head around, but that is what I love doing. I want to be able to share that passion with you.
I love being able to work with different people, from those who are self-employed to single parents, from downsizers to expanding families. Everyone is welcome, and I am sure I can get you the mortgage deal that is right for you! Yes, there are a lot of choices and there can be a lot of jargon, but having the right person guiding you makes it a breeze.
Over the next few months, we’ll be taking a look at some of the common questions I get asked, everything from getting a mortgage when you’re a small business owner to top tips for first-time buyers, nothing is off-limits here.
I hope you enjoy these blogs, and of course, if you have any questions, then please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you - Louise
